Painting Project Video
DWP teamed up with a group of artists called the Wall Project to help bring colour and creativity to the Saki Naka slum community.
The beautifully painted wall is now the back drop to the slum and DWP’s newly finished garden and sports field. Over 50 artists from across Mumbai have added paint and style to the wall as well as hundreds of children and families from the community.
During the event film students, Abishek Rao, Punit Shah and Sanjay Pillai filmed theĀ days activities. The three call themselves “Broken Tripod Productions” and put together this short video from the day.
Cheers guys!

What a great buzz! I’d recommend different music as to my ears the music over the video is too rock and hard for the setting unless the Saga Naki people really listen to that. I’d experiment with a different typeface too, although that may have been the only free one available at the time. It looks dated from the 60s to our western eyes if the item is to be used to promote more Dirty Wall accomplishments. Good footage and editing!
Cheers
Joan.
HI Joan,
I am Abhishek, the director of this movie. The people of Saki Naka (not Saga Naki as you have written it) do not listen to rock music. we wanted the film to have a raw, peppy feel and hence the music. Sober would have just not gone down well with it. Also, we wanted to improvise on the movie but being students rather than professionals, we could not and hence we were working on a shoe string budget. Thanks for mentioning about the footage and editing. We appreciate your support and criticism for the movie.
