For all the people that attended last Saturday nights “Intimate night of Burlesque”…thank you! For those of you who couldn’t make it, you missed a truly amazing evening.
The show was a complete sellout as we packed over 200 people into the Victoria Event Center. The staff were all volunteers including the evenings performers and the host.
Keith Williams of Sonicshoots.com. organized this event and was a one of the big reasons the night was a huge success. Keith is a talented, local burlesque and pin-up photographer, and a successful event promoter.
To all of the lovely and talented performers, I’m truly humbled and honoured that you would offer your talent to help the Dirty Wall Project. Entertainers of your caliber and quality deserve a big payday and to have you forego payment for the ability to help me to help others is inspiring.
After the smoke clears Dirty Wall Project will walk away with over $3000 from the nights festivities. This is over 130,000 Indian Ruppees! During the last trip to India, the Dirty Wall Project spent that same amount and helped over 2000 people receive free medicine and food.
Thanks to the crowd of 200 people who gathered to watch amazing local talent all to help 2000 strangers in a far away land.
I’m lost for words…and humbled by Victoria’s kindness.
I leave for Mumbai, India on March 4th and will be keeping everyone updated on how I use your donations to give a helping hand to India’s poorest.
